For Brendan Dibble, a sophomore at Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, Mother’s Day is a special occasion.
Since last year, this Manasquan resident has embarked on a project to help people buy a Mother’s Day gift that keeps on giving.
His idea is simple. He gets special Mother’s Day cards with a teabag inside from California, and sells them for $10 as part of his community service project to help mothers at Spring House, Eatontown.
When people buy a card from him, Dibble dedicates the card to the person it has been bought for and donates the funds to the Spring House.
Last year, Dibble said he had raised $1,500. This year his target is to double that amount. So far he has collected $2,500 and hopes to continue the fund-raising project as long as people are interested in it.
To buy a card, Dibble said he could be reached at (732) 223 1744 or by e-mail at brendanj.dibble@yahoo.com.
