EATONTOWN – This is what everyone has been waiting for — Bobby’s Burger Palace — a casual, upscale eatery where they offer a variety of 10 signature burgers, plus all the trimmings!
“BBP” opened this December at The Monmouth Mall and features a variety of flavors, styles and cultures offering a unique selection of specialty burgers with something for every individual taste.
Renowned Chef Bobby Flay is a restaurateur (Mesa Grill, Bar Americain, Bobby Flay Steak) as well as a television personality (Food Network) and author of eight cookbooks. The variety of burgers is the result of his extensive travels throughout America and the love of the grill.
According to Flay, each burger is his tribute to America’s regional flavors and traditions, made with premium- quality ingredients and condiments. He says, “Anytime of year, my favorite thing to eat is a cheeseburger.”
The concept is unique. You enter and go directly to the front counter, place your order, pay, and proceed to the dining area with a number. You will be amazed at the striking ambiance. The 74-seat room features several long counters where diners can sit comfortably and socialize with friends or other patrons while their food is being prepared. Bold colors of brilliant reds and vibrant green hues can even be seen from the exterior. Highlighting the scene is a floor-to-ceiling feature wall composed of mosaic wood, bamboo and bright green, brown, and orange glass tiles. You will also notice pendant lamps providing a glow and large photographs of farm-fresh ingredients highlighting the bright canary walls.
Now for the great food! I was in awe with the unique choices of burgers which are available to be made with certified Angus beef, ground turkey, or chicken breast. The main attraction is Flay’s famous “Crunch Burger,” which is not-to-be-missed! When dining at BBP, Bobby reminds you to get your burger “crunchified,” which means to top any BBP burger with crisp potato chips at no additional cost.
“My side of chips always ended up in my burger, so developing ‘crunchification’ was natural; a burger’s overall texture is just as important as flavor,” says Bobby.
“Plus crunchification is not only fun, but it’s also a great way to create the perfect burger, bite for bite, crunch for crunch.”
The most fun was choosing custom BBP sauces to complement your selection. Don’t miss the Beer Battered Onion Rings, crisp and filled with flavor, and sweet potato fries with honey mustard horseradish sauce.
Wash down the great food with BBP’s wide selection of milkshakes or malts, available with whipped cream. We absolutely loved the thick Blueberry Pomegranate, which was rich and creamy, and filled with flavor.
The decision on which burgers to order was the most difficult as they were all very appealing. Of course we had to try the “Bobby Blue Burger,” a succulent flavorful and generous beef patty, prepared exactly to our specifications. The creamy bleu cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato were the finishing touches, and of course we ordered it “crunchified!”
The “Napa Valley Burger” was topped with fresh goat cheese and watercress and then drizzled with Meyer Lemon Honey Mustard. The “L.A. Burger” was accented with avocado relish, watercress, cheddar cheese and tomato.
If you eat at Bobby’s Burger Palace once, you will become addicted and want to return to sample their other exciting choices such as the “Santa Fe Burger” (queso sauce, pickled jalapenos and blue corn chips) or the “Miami Burger” (pressed with ham, swiss cheese and pickles) or the “Buffalo Style Burger” (red hot sauce with bleu cheese dressing and watercress).
