According to a report in the Asbury Park Press, Christian Brothers Academy is looking forward to winning this Saturday, June 6.
Notably, CBA's last and only NJSIAA baseball championship came in 1977.
Now the CBA team thinks that winning the second state championship is only a matter of days. This feeling is strengthened by the team's 9-0 win over St. John Vianney on June 2 at Rutgers University's Bainton Field in the Non-Public South A championship game, according to the APP report.
The report indicated that the Colts (24-3) will meet Delbarton (25-4), a 4-3 winner over St. Joseph (Montvale) on Tuesday in the Non-Public North A championship game, Saturday in Toms River. The site and time will be announced today by the NJSIAA. CBA defeated Delbarton, 7-4, on May 14 in a regular season game.
So far, four of CBA's five losses in sectional finals have been by a run, according to the report.
