Born in 1981 Dennis W. Zilinski, II the son of Dennis W. and Marion R. Zilinski. Brother of Douglas and 2Lt. Matthew J. Zilinski, New Jersey Army National Guard.
Dennis W. Zilinski, II grew up in Middletown, New Jersey and attended Middletown Village, Thorne Middle School and graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft. Dennis was an avid swimmer at the Red Bank YMCA and CBA.
Dennis graduated at West Point US Military Academy in 2004 and finished Airborne training while attending West Point.
First Lieutenant Dennis W. Zilinski II, United States Army, was killed in action while deployed in Iraq on November 19, 2005.
Preserving the memory of Dennis, close friends and family formed the organization now know as the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial Fund. The memorial fund started with the annual Run/Walk in Nov. 2006.
At the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel on Sunday, November 8, 2009, the fourth annual Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Memorial 3.5-mile run was held. Proceeds sponsor programs for injured soldiers and scholarships for students attending Christian Brother's.
