Aberdeen Township - Approximately 56 anglers packed the beach at Cliffwood Beach Park to compete in The Aberdeen Township Environmental and Shade Tree Advisory Board's 17th Annual Family Fishing Contest on May 8.
Trophies for the largest fish caught were awarded to first, second, and third place finishers in the Adults (18 and over) and Youth (under 13) categories. One winner was named in the Teens (13-18) division. Bluefish was the catch of the day, accounting for all fish caught. Winners of the 2010 event were:
Adult Division: 1st Place: Marlon Saway, Islen, NJ - 27" 2nd Place: Jozef Ciepiela, Linden, NJ - 24" 3rd Place: Douglas Lopez, Cliffwood Beach, NJ - 22"
Teen Division: (under 18) 1st Place: Nick Crispino, Aberdeen, NJ - 18"
Youth Division: (under 13) 1st Place: Michael Mueller, Cliffwood Beach, NJ - 20" 2nd Place: Cameron Knan, Valley Stream, NY - 19" 3rd Place: Christine Kelly, Carteret, NJ - 18"
