Firefighters combated an active structure fire at a two-story Middletown home that continued to smolder into Thursday afternoon. The fire, located at 6 Tuller Court, was seemingly contained as of 1 p.m., although firefighters continued to hose the smoking ruins as the residential area was inundated with smoke.
Fire engines from Lincroft Fire Co., East Keansburg Fire Co., River Plaza Hose Co. No. 1 and the Navesink Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 were on the scene to combat the blaze, which had engulfed the residence located at the end of the cul-de-sac.
The Fairview First Aid Squad and Leonardo First Aid Squad were also on scene to assist with the effort.
There appeared to be no injuries as attempts to extinguish the fire continued into the afternoon. Continue to check for updates regarding the official status of the blaze.
