Big Joe Henry, left, a popular radio personality, shares a moment with Steve Bidgood, managing partner of Salt Creek Grille.

This week’s photo were taken at the 10th anniversary celebration of the Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, an annual fundraising event which this year raised nearly $50,000 for a local children’s charity.

RUMSON – Salt Creek Grille’s 10th Anniversary Wine and Martini Extravaganza raised more than $46,000 for Kidz Kare, a charity founded by local teens that offers support to children and young adults with serious illnesses.

Shauna Bidgood, daughter of Salt Creek Grille regional partner Steve Bidgood and co-president of Kidz Kare, announced that the proceeds from the event would be used to purchase flat-screen televisions for patients and comfortable overnight chairs for attending parents at the Valerie Center at the Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

Every year the Salt Creek Grille – 4 Bingham Ave. – celebrates its anniversary by holding a wine and martini fundraiser to benefit selected non-profit organizations in the community. In past years, more than $350,000 has been raised by the Salt Creek Grille through this annual event and a year-long $1 menu donation program. Salt Creek donates the room, labor and any other costs while Salt Creek’s purveyors donate food and beverages.

“This year is a particularly special one for me since Salt Creek Grille is celebrating 10 years in Rumson and because of my daughter’s involvement with Kidz Kare,” Bidgood said. “Since day one it has been our mission to support charities that help kids.”
