Keyport's 'tiniest patients' received 500 books The Courier, July 24 Posted:07/26/08

On Tuesday, July 22, New Jersey's Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Industry delivered 3,500 children's books to the Reach Out and Read program.
N.J. Commissioner of Education Lucille Davy; Sen. Sean Kean, R-Monmouth; and Assemblyman Dave Rible, R-Monmouth, attended the event.
The two-part ceremony took place in both Asbury Park and Neptune, where Davy and Rible read to children, in respective locations.
Books were donated to the five area providers of the Reach Out and Read program, including the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center, Asbury Park; the Jersey Shore Medical Center Family Health Center, Neptune; Asbury Park Pediatrics, Asbury Park; Spring Lake Pediatrics, Spring Lake Heights; and the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center, in Keyport.
Reach Out and Read is a national children's literacy program focusing on children aged 6 months to 5 years old. Children in the program are living at or near poverty level.
