This week’s Scene Around features photos from “The Home Stretch” which benefited the Monmouth Conservation Foundation’s efforts to raise funds to promote the importance of the equine industry in preserving open space.
MIDDLETOWN – The Monmouth Conservation Foundation entered “The Home Stretch” in its efforts to complete the final phase of the foundation’s three-year, $5 million campaign to raise awareness of the equine industry in the preservation of the county’s open space with its 31st annual dinner dance and fundraiser at county’s Huber Woods Equestrian Center.
Aptly themed “The Home Stretch,” the event honored three long-time supporters of the foundation: Barry Davall, president and chief executive officer of Community Partners Bancorp of Middletown and The Town Bank of Westfield, was honored for 16 years of dedicated service to the organization.
Also, Sheldon and Anne Vogel were honored for their belief in the foundation’s mission and their generous support of the capital campaign.
Judith Stanley Coleman, foundation president, used the event as a platform to announce the purchase of development rights to Holly Crest Farm, a 37-acre horse farm in Middletown in conjunction with the State Agriculture Development Committee.
