This week’s Scene Around helps kick off The Arc of Monmouth 42nd Annual Winter Glow Ball and Big Brother Big Sisters of Monmouth’s 10th Annual Matching Smiles Gala.

TINTON FALLS – The Arc of Monmouth announced that the planning of the 42nd Annual Winter Glow Ball is underway. To kick off the event, a cocktail party was held for the General Committee to the ball at Restaurant Nicholas in Red Bank.

The ball is being held Friday, December 5, at the Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands.  A spectacular live and silent auction are planned in addition to the Giant $100 50/50 Raffle. There will also be a $5 Raffle for Elegant Dining for a Year which includes 12 gift certificates to fine restaurants in New Jersey and New York valued at $2,400.

Anita Roselle of Manasquan, chair of the Ball for the 19th year, announced that the event would honor the late Janice Colondrillo, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Colondrillo, long time supporters of The Arc of Monmouth.

Dr. and Mrs. Colondrillo have been involved with The Arc of Monmouth for many years through various avenues, including serving on the committees for the annual Winter Glow Ball.  Joan serves on the Executive Committee to the ball, and Janice, who accompanied her to every meeting, became an honorary member. Her loss will be felt for many years to come, Roselle said.

“This year we lost more than a friend, we lost a part of the family,” said Roselle. “Janice brought a joy and liveliness to our weekly meetings. They are not the same without her.”
The Winter Glow Ball is held each year to benefit The Arc of Monmouth.  Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available. For information call The Arc of Monmouth’s Development Department at 732-493-1919.

The Arc of Monmouth serves more than 1,400 individuals with developmental disabilities and their families each year with education, vocational training, residential services, health care, supported employment, recreation, social services and advocacy.
