SEA BRIGHT – If you are looking for a fine Italian restaurant where you will get spectacular Italian food prepared to order and be able to bring along the entire family without emptying your wallets, then Trotteria G is the place to go!

Besides that, you can also bring along your favorite wines to complement your meal. I dine here frequently and I always enjoy the cuisine, whether it is seafood, chicken, veal or even a lobster!

The restaurant is intimate, clean, and ideal for casual dining. If it is pizza that you crave then you are also in the right place as they are known for their thin-crusted pizza as well. Everything is prepared to order and they even make homemade pastas! Owner Giovanni Fon-tana’s favorite sauce is “Ragu” which he prepares himself, made with pork bones, carrots, celery, onions, garlic and fresh herbs. This is simmered for at least seven hours, and wait until you taste it! It’s superb, a genuine taste of Italy.

Giovanni is educated in Italian cuisine as he studied there and his family are renown chefs in Italy. He now brings his talents here opening the Trotteria a year ago last spring. His motto is “quality and freshness” and he also has a hands-on approach to everything that goes on in the kitchen. You may also see him chatting with customers making sure that everything is to their satisfaction.

If you are a lobster lover then Tuesday is your night to dine as The Trotteria features “Lobster Night” and the good news is that it is only $19.95 for a lobster prepared either steamed, francaise or oreganato, served with pasta or risotto.

Every entrée comes with soup or salad. I love their soups especially the Pasta Fagoli and Minestrone, both filled with a homemade flavor. We also love their fresh vegetable selections and on this occasion we sampled a steamed cauliflower dish that was well seasoned, healthy and fresh tasting.

We just had to try Trotteria’s vibrant lobsters, and the lobster meat was juicy and pleasant to the taste served with drawn butter. This is an incredible choice, made to satisfy any lover of shell fish. Don’t miss it!

One of my favorites here is their fresh tasting Sole, made in a variety of ways. I chose Sole Oreganato and as usual was very pleased with my entrée. The Sole was very fresh tasting as if it wasn’t out of the waters for very long.

The portion was generous and I chose homemade linguine with garlic and oil as my accompaniment. Other selections are francaise, broiled or Livornaise. One of my companions chose Chicken Parmagiana. This was a great choice as the large portion was smothered with fresh mozzarella cheese and Giovanni’s famous Ragu sauce. A sure bet! Another version is Shrimp Parmagiana, composed of a generous portion of  tender jumbo shrimp.

If it is pizza that you love you are in the right place as their pizzas are incredible, crisp and topped with the ingredients of your choice. Buon  Appetito!
