MILLBURN – “Disney’s High School Musical” — playing through December 7 at the Paper Mill Playhouse — is a show that can be enjoyed by all ages as it relives the high school days of everyone.
The dancing and humor of this extraordinary cast captivated a full-house audience, entertaining them for two hours.
In this contemporary “Romeo and Juliet” comedy, Troy, captain of the basketball team — played by Chase Peacock — and Gabriella, a shy academically gifted transfer student — portrayed by Sydney Morton — discover they share a secret passion for singing.
When they audition together for the lead roles in the school musical, the “jocks,” “braniacs,” and “thespians” hatch convoluted plots to separate the pair and keep them off the stage.
In the end, however, Troy and Gabriella inspire other students to explore their own hidden talents to the delight of everyone.
“High School Musical” is performed Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 and 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are priced from $25 to $92. Student rush tickets are $20 and are available the day of performance in person with a current student ID.
Tickets may be purchased by calling 973-376-4343, or at the Paper Mill box office at 22 Brookside Drive, or online at www.papermill.org. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are excepted.
